Summit Technology Services, Inc. is currently seeking several qualified on-site Nitrogen Equipment Technicians for offshore/onshore projects.
Workers must have knowledge, skill, and experience operating equipment in the oil & gas industry such as: on-site membrane nitrogen generators, boosters, air compressors, air dryers, after coolers, diesel engines, etc.
Selected candidates will be based out of our client's shop on the north side of Houston and dispatched to customer sites/projects from there. Projects at customer sites may last from a few days to a few months with very little or no time off until project completion. Daily shifts may range from 8 hours to around the clock. Candidates will need to be able to report to the shop quickly on-call.
About the Role
These positions begin as 6-12 month contracts with the potential to convert to permanent hire.
Travel to customer sites is required; when not traveling, work and training will be available in the shop. Selected candidates are expected to have a high desire to work, learn, and be self-motivated. Project work and shop work will have separate hourly pay rates.
Specific duties will fall under Field Services, Pipeline Maintenance Services, and Pressure Testing. This may include equipment servicing, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, flow testing, instrumentation, pipeline pigging, purging, commissioning/decommissioning pipelines or stations, pressure testing services, or many others.
Preferred Certifications
- Valid Driver's License with good driving record (MUST HAVE)
- TWIC-Basic Plus
- Water Survival (T-HUET/BOSIET)
- API RP 2D Qualified Rigger
- Fire Incipient (OSHA 1910.157)
- Fall Protection (OSHA 1925.500) including rescue planning
- 3rd Party Evaluations for Technicians Skill/Knowledge specifically with N2, compressors, boosters (NCCER, OQSG, or other)
- Hazardous Material Shipping 49 CFR 172.704 or HAZMAT Transportation Awareness-National Safety Council
- IADC Rig Pass - Onshore/Offshore (SafeGulf / SafeLand)
- SEMS II Awareness Training (May have been incl w/ IADC Rig Pass training)
- Nitrogen Awareness
- Marine Trash and Debris
Qualifications
Must have a valid driver's license with a clean record.
Must be able to pass drug/alcohol tests and background screens.
Must be safety-focused and work with a safety mindset 100% of the time.
Required Skills
At least 3-5 years in the Oil & Gas industry.
Experience working with nitrogen equipment.
Ability to think quickly and problem-solve.
Mechanical aptitude.
Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Equipment mechanic/repair experience.
Knowledge and experience creating and filling out JSA's.
Pay range and compensation package
Hourly pay varies between training, shop work, and project work, as well as previous experience and specific knowledge. Medical benefits and 401K options are available.
